Q: What do CHAMPIONS get?
A: Innovators whose proposals are accepted into the Lab will qualify for:
1. Mentorship 2. Information and resources 3. Connections 4. Public visibility 5. Money
Of course, as much as we'd like to, we can only fully support the most promising projects– but anyone who submits a proposal will benefit from the Lab's resources.
Q: How DEVELOPED should an IDEA be?
A: Think you have an innovative idea? We'd love to hear about it. No matter what stage of development your idea is in – be it a concept or more fully fleshed out – we're interested in hearing about it.
Ideas that are in their infancy, as well as those that are more advanced will be considered. However, make sure you check out how to clearly present your idea.
Above all else, the Civic Innovation Lab is flexible – and will respond to good ideas – whether just getting started or further down the path. If your idea is strong, and you're committed to making it happen, the Lab will make sure you receive the support you need.

Q: Who is a CHAMPION?
A: We are looking for Champions...
A Champion is any individual who has an idea and the desire, energy and willingness to make that idea a reality for Greater Cleveland.
Champions are dedicated, passionate, and knowledgeable about their idea. Just as important, Champions are willing to take risks, including financial, career, and reputation risk.
There is no one background, education or experience that makes someone a Champion, but rather intangible qualities such as motivation, ingenuity, thoughtfulness and willingness to work hard are what make a Champion. Learn more about our Champions! |
