Entrepreneurship Preparatory School will educate students, in grades 6-12, and build a curriculum based upon the principles of E City, an after-school program that teaches entrepreneurship and life skills to inner-city youth. Entrepreneurship Academy will become a community school, chartered by the Cleveland Municipal School District.

Entrepreneurship Preparatory School is seeking a full-time, founding Director of Operations to work closely with the Head of School, the founding Faculty, and the officers of the Board of Directors.

MISSION
Entrepreneurship Preparatory School is dedicated to providing a premier educational experience to students throughout the city of Cleveland, Ohio. We will emphasize individual educational growth resulting in above proficient test scores, graduation, and acceptance to a four-year college or university. This will take place in a technologically advanced, safe, and disciplined environment.

We as the founding group of Entrepreneurship Prep are inspired by the work of outstanding educators such as Dr. Lorraine Monroe. The children Dr. Monroe served in NYC are no different than the children we seek to serve in Cleveland. We agree with Dr. Monroe when she says of the

Frederick Douglass Academy:

[T]he student body is 80 percent African-American, 20 percent Latino...the great majority of our students are kids like any others... Many come from troubled or broken homes, and most are from families of modest means – or little means. If anyone still claims that black kids, when properly supported, can't learn and compete with anyone else, the results we've achieved at the academy prove otherwise. (Nothing's Impossible),

With such inspiration, and with our dedication to being part of the solution for the young people of Cleveland, we ask you to imagine some simple but powerful things:

Imagine a CLEVELAND Public School Where:

Students are held to high levels of academic excellence.
Students master the core subjects of reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.

Students prepare for college as a gateway to accomplishing long-term goals.

Students learn in an atmosphere of discipline and respect.
Students learn responsible citizenship.

Students learn entrepreneurial skills and develop financial literacy.

You have just envisioned Entrepreneurship Prep, a proposed 6-12 school for the children of Cleveland, Ohio. Under the capable leadership of Marshall Emerson III, catalyzed by the forward thinking of E CITY, and supported by the training of Building Excellent Schools (a national non-profit dedicated to the founding of high performing urban charter schools),

Entrepreneurship Prep looks forward to the contribution it can make in the lives of children in Cleveland, Ohio.

HOW CAN THIS VISION BECOME A REALITY FOR OUR CHILDREN?
Together, students, teachers, families and staff create and maintain a close community through meals, meetings, performances, classes, and community service. It is our vision that with a rigorous academic program, a strict disciplinary policy, and an entrepreneurial focus our students will graduate fully prepared to attend and succeed in a four-year college or university and to serve their community as positive and progressive citizens with entrepreneurial spirits.
